Swift motorhome ranges explained for new and used buyers
A used Swift Escape and a new Escape don’t necessarily occupy the same place in a buyer’s shortlist. Range names continue while the layouts, equipment and intended customers change. The same caution applies when comparing Voyager, Trekker and Kon-Tiki adverts.
Start with the number of people travelling, the sleeping arrangement and your storage needs. Then use the range names to investigate the equipment and layout options that could make those plans work.

Key takeaways
- The current Swift motorhome selection includes Voyager, Trekker, Escape and Kon-Tiki.
- Trekker is used for both campervans and coachbuilt motorhomes: check which body you’re viewing.
- Escape’s 2027 selection gives particular attention to two-person touring.
- Berths, travel seats and usable payload must all suit the same trip.
How the current Swift motorhome ranges compare
Swift’s motorhome collection provides the starting point for the current selection. The table describes the main buying question for each family.
| Range | Where to begin | Useful viewing test |
|---|---|---|
| Voyager | Family-oriented layouts with several sleeping arrangements | Try every travel seat and bed required for your trip |
| Trekker motorhome | Coachbuilt accommodation with distinctive styling | Compare the actual floorplan with a similarly sized Voyager |
| Escape | Couples-focused touring and selected four-berth versions | Check the version’s travel seats and bedroom routine |
| Kon-Tiki | Higher-specification accommodation for longer stays | Assess storage, dimensions and loaded weight together |
On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.
Start browsing with our used motorhomes for sale pages, then narrow by layout and budget. A general listing category won’t establish which equipment a particular Swift has fitted.
Voyager makes travel seats an early decision
The current Voyager range includes two- to six-berth choices. Its published examples show why the sleeping count needs a separate check: the Voyager 574 lists six berths but four travel seats.
That can work for a group whose plans involve visitors joining on site. It won’t suit a six-person journey if the vehicle only has four approved travel positions. Ask to inspect the seating, belts and documentation before deciding that a family layout meets your needs.
Voyager’s current highlights also include a dedicated shower cubicle, Truma CombiNeo heating and a 100Ah lithium leisure battery. At a viewing, relate those facilities to your expected campsite use. Demonstrate the shower area, ask how the heating works and establish what the fitted battery can realistically supply.
Trekker needs a body-type check
The Trekker motorhome range is distinct from the Trekker campervan. Current coachbuilt models include the 505, 540, 584 and 594, with the 505 added for 2027.
When an advert says “Trekker”, ask for an exterior photograph and the complete model designation. Then compare the layout with a similar Voyager. Styling may attract you to one, but the route to the washroom, the bed arrangement and the available storage determine how it works on holiday.
Don’t infer a particular drive system or off-road capability from outdoor styling. Establish the actual chassis, drivetrain, tyres and manufacturer limitations for the vehicle you’re considering.
Escape’s latest direction is particularly relevant to couples
The 2027 Escape selection includes two-berth 640, 684 and 694 versions, plus four-berth versions of the 684 and 694. Its highlights include Alde heating, a dedicated shower and a 100Ah lithium battery.
For a couple, the advantage of a two-person layout depends on how you use it. Check whether the lounge is comfortable without having to move the table repeatedly, whether both people can dress easily and whether the washroom remains accessible at night.
If you sometimes take passengers, compare the documented travel-seat arrangement as well as the beds. Don’t assume that a similarly numbered older Escape has the current vehicle’s seating or weight specification.
Kon-Tiki asks you to plan for the whole vehicle
Swift’s Kon-Tiki range lists Alde heating and two 100Ah lithium leisure batteries among its current highlights. New 2027 models include the 740 and 774, alongside larger layouts in the collection.
For longer stays, look beyond the amount of equipment. Can you reach stored items when the bed is occupied? Will the fridge and kitchen work for your usual shopping routine? Where will wet coats and outdoor shoes go?
Measure parking and storage access carefully, allowing for fitted accessories. Obtain the individual vehicle’s plated limits and establish its actual available payload. A large garage, extra batteries and room for bicycles should be assessed together, not as independent benefits.
Older Swift names need their own research
Used adverts also include names such as Sundance, Bolero, Rio and Edge. Treat those as vehicles from their own collections rather than assigning them the position of a current Voyager or Escape.
Ask for the original brochure or owner documents, then confirm the engine, gearbox, floorplan and fitted equipment. Check whether beds, seats, battery systems or appliances have been altered. A later owner’s upgrade may be useful, but you’ll want installation records and an explanation of how it works.
Compare the base vehicle’s service history with the habitation paperwork. Our second-hand motorhome buying advice will help you prepare the questions for both assessments.
Which Swift motorhome is worth viewing first?
Choose one layout that meets your travel-seat and sleeping needs, then compare an alternative with a different bedroom or lounge arrangement. Use the motorhome pages by price range to keep the shortlist realistic. Before travelling to view, request the floorplan, plate details and a list of the accessories included in the price. Those answers help you spend your time on vehicles that can accommodate the trip you actually want to take.
